SpeechEasy

SpeechEasy™ is one of the most advanced, smallest and effective new treatments for the problem of stuttering. It is small enough to fit completely in an ear canal, yet it uses an advanced microprocessor that has all the power of a personal computer. The SpeechEasy™ is digitally programmable with special computer software for a wide range of settings of Delayed Auditory Feedback (DAF) and Frequency Altered Feedback (FAF).

Elaine Stevick, M.A., C.C.C-SLP, clinical director of Speech, Language & Learning Services’ Petaluma office, has been fitting people for the SpeechEasy™ device since August of 2002 and was one of the original providers when SpeechEasy™ was in early phases of availability. She was the only provider in California until February of 2003 and has over 100 patients wearing their personalized SpeechEasy™ devices. Robin Rossman, M.A., C.C.C-SLP, clinical director of Speech, Language and Learning Services’ San Rafael office, is also a provider of the SpeechEasy device and has been seeing patients since April of 2003.
